Yes - Comedy! The most innovative form of theatre with the best ingredients
from acro and batics, slap and stick, with a lot of panto and even more mime
- it is a load of concentrated entertainment sweeping over the stage with
a lot of spec and and full of tacle, action, fun and music.
There have always been workshops and seminars in the field of the classical
drama education. Comedy, however, as a branch of its own, is almost not-existent
within drama education in acting schools of the German speaking area. This
is because the" training of a comedian" consists of the so called "Comedy-Trains",
which are a medley of different styles of the theatre. The one and only international
Comedy seminar in Austria tries to make use of those "Trains" and
develop them further. Interested laymen will have the possibility to get
an insight and overview of "Comedy" and we will try to help them
with their first steps on the stage. Profs will have the possibility to become
perfect with the help of international guidance.

We offer 4 seminars (lessons take place in small groups) with different
approaches to the genre `Comedy´ or rather `Clowning/Comic´!
The fees for the seminars include:

The seminar takes place in the rooms of the Hauptschule Schirmitzbühel
in the northeast of Kapfenberg. Two gyms and a theatre with a rehearsal stage
are available.

Cancellation: All amounts paid will be refunded minus a cancellation fee
of 90 € up to 14 days before the beginning of the course.
At later cancellations the reimbursement of the fees is not possible!
Hotel Kaiserhof and hotel "Böhlerstern" offers
accommodations at reduced prices for participants. Of course you can order
a list of further hotels and boarding houses in different price categories.
We will be pleased to mail it to you. If you want us to make a reservation
for you, please let us know. We'll be glad to be of your service. There will
also be the possibility to camp in the schoolyard (only for participants!)
Kapfenberg offers a lot of sport facilities. They can be used for free (stadium)
or with reduced-price tickets by the participants. (sauna, indoor pool, outdoor
pool, steam bath, solarium, weight room and fitness-center). Further facilities
participants can use for free: the museum of Kapfenberg, the gallery of modern
arts or the cultural center, as well as the Comedy festival taking place
parallel to the seminars.
